This cosy, cheerful new neighbourhood cafe specialises in vibrantly plated sandwiches prepared to order, most prominently a few with fun Malaysian twists - think thick & tender cuts of chicken breast, drenched in rich, robust house-made kam heong sauce with arugula in oregano toast, or pulled chicken with cinnamon caramelised pineapples with a mellow, fruity-zesty achar sauce in cranberry toast (RM20 each). Worthwhile for a warm, hearty & reasonably wholesome lunch.
While sandwiches are GBM's distinctive flagship offering, a complete selection of everything from matcha pancakes (RM10) to tomyam pasta is also available, complemented by cakes like the chocolate mousse studded with almonds & pumpkin & sunflower seeds (RM13). Thirst-quenchers run the gamut from handcrafted coffee mocktails like the Blood Black (RM14; a hyper-caffeinated rush of double espresso with cola, pomegranate & lime juice) & 12-hour cold brews (RM12) to the refreshingly cool 'rusty latte' (RM11) & green tea with vanilla ice cream & almond nibs (RM13). Good Blue Men looks set to be a red-hot entry to Section 17; a bit of trivia - the cafe's name is a play on a Cantonese phrase that reflects its founders' mission to become better men.
